LONGSHOT SPECIAL
Race 6 - #5 Riverside AS
Race 1 Selections 4-3-1-5
4 ABSTRACT ARTIST missed the board in his first lifetime start, but he hasn’t missed cracking the top three since then. The son of Modern Art gets the nod in this spot.
3 SPRINGERS LUCKYBOY has hit the board in more than half of his starts this season, and he can bolster his totals tonight in his debut for trainer/driver MacArthur. Contender.
1 CARDINAL ZIN has looked good in his first two starts for trainer Davies, who gets a great post position to work from tonight. The colt takes on much tougher company this time.
Race 2 Selections 6-7-5-3
6 LUCKY GEORGE had done plenty of winning this year, and I’m going to look for the gelding to make his presence felt in here for trainer Taylor. The gelding is a major threat.
7 STRIKING LIGHTNING has shown improvement since being given some class relief to work with. The son of Striking Sahbra has the speed needed to share once again.
5 CR SKY FLYER made a costly miscue in the late stages of his most recent outing, but he bounced back with a solid qualifier two weeks later. The gelding can share in here.
Race 3 Selections 8-9-5-4
8 DONER DREAM has posted back-to-back wins over this oval for the tandem of trainer Lorentzon and driver Allard, and there’s no reason to believe the gelding can’t triple up.
9 STRIKE EM missed a scheduled start on August 27, but he was an impressive winner just six days earlier for trainer Fair. The gelding must overcome a challenging post here.
5 BOB FROM BRUSSELS has finished first or second in three of his first four starts for trainer/driver MacArthur, who will look to bolster the youngster’s totals against this group.
Race 4 Selections 2-4-3-9
2 KING BUCK closed from out of the clouds to be a lapped-on runner-up for trainer Herlihy. He wasn’t nearly as effective in his previous start when asked for speed.
4 DARK PRINCE left people scratching their heads when he blazed over Kawartha’s oval in 1:52.4 in his most recent victory. It will be interesting to see if he can duplicate it.
3 TACKIE TOE has hit the board in a high percentage of his starts this season, and I can see him adding to his totals tonight for trainer Robinson. His speed makes him tough.
Race 5 Selections 1-4-5-2
1 NEW RIEGEL STAR has looked good since joining forces with trainer Arsenault, who gets to work from the rail tonight. The gelding has the speed to handle this group.
4 FULL VOLUME had no luck on Xtreme night, but the son of Striking Sahbra was a determined third-place finisher in his previous assignment for trainer Stutzman. Big threat.
5 TAKEACHANCEWITHME battled with sickness at the start of August, but he recently returned and he looked good in his first start back. He’s a top three threat tonight.
Race 6 Selections 3-1-9-7
3 YORKSTER has hit the board in each of his last three assignments for trainer Bax, who gets a great post to work from as he tries to keep the ball rolling with the gelding.
1 SPEEDY TEXAN rolled into a costly break in the late stages of his latest outing over this oval, but he still managed to trot his mile in 2:00.4. The colt can rebound.
9 YOADRIEN minded her manners from start to finish in her most recent outing for trainer Ruhl, who has a tough post to contend with tonight. The filly can share in here.
Race 7 Selections 2-4-1-7
2 COMPETITION CAM has looked good in each of his last two starts for trainer Robinson, who has to like his chances in this spot. The son of E Dees Cam rates top billing here.
4 VINTAGE ART brushed to the top after the quarter pole, and proved to be the winning move for the son of Artsplace. The colt is very capable of a carbon copy performance.
1 MESMERIZER finds himself in an easier spot tonight for trainer/driver Mayotte, who has watched the gelding hit the winner’s circle four time this season. He’s a contender.
Race 8 Selections 2-4-6-7
2 KENNEY TROT MOSS was forced to requalify after making back-to-back breaks. The gelding looked good in his latest prep, and hopefully he can behave against these.
4 POMMER has grabbed small shares in each of his last two starts since shedding the trotting hopples. The son of Andover Image has the speed to hold his own in this spot.
6 MACDUFFIE was a speedy runner-up two starts ago at Mohawk for trainer Nicholson, who watched the colt make a break in his next outing. He can regroup against these.
Race 9 Selections 1-3-6-8
1 EASY LIVIN SMILEY has gone home empty handed in each of his last two starts, but I can see him being a major danger tonight. The post relief gives him the edge in here.
3 KINGOFTHECASTLE got off to a horrible start last time and as a result he had too far to come in the late stages of the mile. He disappointed last time, but can rebound here.
6 TREVOR JAY B went a long way on the lead last time, but he let a late lead slip away and wound up settling for the show dough for Team Byron. He can share tonight.
Race 10 Selections 1-4-3-5
1 PLANET EARTH has hit the board on nine occasions this season, but his win column could use some beefing up. He hooks a beatable bunch tonight. I’ll give him the edge.
4 WINTERS JEWEL was an impressive winner in front-stepping fashion at Mohawk two starts ago, but the mare wanted no part of her Xtreme assignment. She can share.
3 BUCATO used a :29.4 final quarter to grab the runner-up award in her latest outing, and with the help of an inside post I can see her grabbing a good share against these.
Race 11 Selections 3-2-6-5
3 THE LADIES MAN turned in a very impressive win in his most recent assignment over this oval for trainer Ritchie, who will shoot for a round trip to victory lane. Top call here.
2 ST LADS KINGPIN has looked sharp in his first two tries for trainer Pereira, who gets a great post position to work from tonight. The son of Million Dollar Cam is a big threat.
6 CODE WORD was no match for O.S.S. foes in his last start, but he might find this group a bit more to his liking. The son of Western Terror is long overdue for a big mile.
Race 12 Selections 4-3-8-7
4 JOHNNY DRAMA came up with a big performance in his second start off the claim for trainer Allard, who will shoot for a round trip to victory lane with the son of Artiscape.
3 RAIDERS FINALE has put up great numbers this year for trainer Heard, and there’s no reason to believe he can’t add to them tonight. The inside post adds to his appeal here.
8 ALLEGEDLY SO has hit the board in a high percentage of his starts for trainer Pseekos. The gelding has a tough post to overcome tonight, but he still merits consideration.
