Community Action

We believe that actions speak louder than words, which is why we always look for tangible opportunities to become involved with our community partners and organizations. By getting out there in our community to volunteer, help out, and give back our time, we strive to create a positive impact and produce visible results that ultimately help local organizations make our communities stronger for everyone to enjoy.

December 1-12, 2018 - Georgian Downs 12 Days Of Giving

During the first 12 days of December 2018 the staff at Georgian Downs Racetrack participated in the Great Canadian Gaming Proud Program to help usher in the Holiday Spirit of Giving. Our challenge was to complete 12 days of random acts of kindness. The staff came together to help raise funds for or collect and deliver items to Barrie Youth Haven, Thornton Food Bank, David Busby Centre, Great Canadian Gift Box, Senior Wish and Furry Friends Cat Shelter. Team members also visited seniors at the Lakeside Retirement Home in Innisfil and Barrie Fire Station #5. During the visits, they shared Christmas treats and received a tour of the facilities. Racetrack teletheatre guests were pleasantly surprised by coffee and treats served by staff. Georgian also hosted a craft day with Fraser Court and held an indoor car wash to raise funds for Sick Kids Foundation.
